DFrame module 15 · Coordination
Clash Detective
for Revit.
Configure Revit clash rules, run coordination checks, create viewpoints and export structured clash results with DFrame.
Problem and approach
Why Clash Detective exists.
Clash Detective brings rule-based coordination checks into a focused Revit workflow. Define supported category or selection-set comparisons, run the check and review detected intersections.
Results can be opened in Revit viewpoints and exported for coordination. The module supports internal review; it is not presented as a replacement for a federated Navisworks coordination process.
Input to result
Clash Detective, step by step.
Three decisions that move the task from source information to a result ready for review.

- 1.
Configure the model sets and clash rules
- 2.
Run the check and review detected clashes
- 3.
Create viewpoints and export coordination results
Controls
What the module lets you inspect.
A repeatable clash-checking process with clearer viewpoints and structured results for follow-up.
Configure reusable clash rules
Define supported category or selection-set comparisons once and retain the rule logic for recurring internal coordination checks.
Run checks and create coordination viewpoints
Open detected intersections in focused Revit viewpoints so reviewers can inspect the relevant model context without searching manually.
Export structured clash results
Share a structured result set for meeting preparation and follow-up while keeping federated Navisworks coordination as a separate process.
Best suited for
Who benefits most.
- BIM coordinators running internal checks
- Engineering teams reviewing linked models
